Event Overview

Series race in the "Dirt Crit" series for youth riders.

Please use the BC online system to enter the race as entry on the day will only be permitted should there be sufficient spaces.

An approximate timetable and race duration is as follows:

Sign on opens at 9am.

  • Youth E starts at 10:30, 10 minutes + 1 lap
  • Youth D starts at 10:50, 10 minutes + 1 lap
  • Youth C starts at 11:10, 15 minutes + 2 laps
  • Youth B starts at 11:40, 25 minutes + 3 laps
  • Youth A plus Junior Female starts at 12:20, 30 minutes + 3 laps

This is only a guide and is subject to change on the day

Please ensure that you are registered at least 30 minutes before the race.

All riders will use a timing chip for their race which must be returned at the end of the race.

BICYCLES & EQUIPMENT

All riders should be on a bike in good working order, which is suitable for mildly technical terrain. Riders should wear gloves and clothing appropriate for mountain biking.

Gear check is not carried out at mountain bike races, however riders much ensure that their bicycle has bar end plugs.

GRIDDING

The start of each race will be gridded by the commissaire  Boys and girls may be gridded separately, subject to the decision of the commissaire.

LAPS OUT

There are no permitted laps out in mountain bike racing. Riders should finish the race on the same bike that they started the race on, and there should be no outside assistance for track side repairs.

PRESENTATIONS

A podium ceremony will be held for the top 3 finishing riders in each category (male and female) at the end of each race.

TIMING

There will be an area for timing by the start/finish line of each race. This area will be cordoned off and will not be accessible to riders or spectators.
