June 2022 sees the return of Thursday evening MK Bowl races run on a similar basis as before but with the added benefit of chip timing to help with placing riders.  Details of entry and timing chip allocation are shown in rider information.   

This will be a league series with the racing format as follows:

Men’s 4ths and Women’s races running 1 min apart concurrently on the inner Bowl course starting at 6pm followed by Men's 3/4ths and E123 races on the extended east car park course (subject to weather conditions) running 1 minute apart concurrently starting at 7pm.  Local rules will apply and will be made clear via all communication formats.

Info for Riders

The organisers use a chip timing system to aid finish placing and the system use is explained in more detail below.  All riders are advised to familiarise themselves with the instructions below as well as all the British Cycling and event rules. Online entry will close at 17:00 the day before the event so that chips and race numbers can be allocated to each rider. Riders will retain the same race bib number for the series but timing chips must be handed back at each event as they are used again for other races.  Instructions will be given to ensure all chips are handed back after each race.

If you miss the 5pm entry deadline you can still enter after that but you must use the my.raceresults system to be allocated a timing chip.  The event for 30th June is shown here

Parking - please follow all parking signs and instructions. Sign on will be at the Bowl Pavilion just inside the main entrance.  

Riders are accepted on a first come, first served basis. Day licenses will be accepted.

Timing Chips

• Timing chips will be issued when riders sign on
• Chips must be strapped to the rider’s left ankle
• During warm up riders should ride over the finish mat to ensure their chip signal is registering
• Riders that drop out during the race must return their chip to the sign on immediately
• All riders must return their chips to the sign on at the end of the event.

Entry on the day @ £20 will be available subject to riders arriving in good time and at the discretion of the organisers.  Riders are strongly advised to pre-enter online to be sure of gaining entry.  All participating MKCA affiliated clubs will be expected to assist with providing course marshals for some events through the summer series.  6 marshal vouchers for free event entry will be issued to clubs that provide marshals.  It will only be possible to use the extended course if marshals are available. Prizes and series Trophies will be set and awarded by the event sponsors There is a field limit of 80 riders on the Milton Keynes Bowl circuit so field size numbers will be allocated as below:
