VCR Spring Sportive in Partnership with Re-Cycle - 2nd April 2022
Have all your winter miles paid off, or how does your Zwift fitness actually transfer to the great outdoors?!?
VC Revolution Cycling Club will be promoting its Annual RT Cycle-Sportive on a rolling course based around the Essex and Suffolk borders. It's with great pleasure that for the 2022 edition, we have partnered up with Re-Cycle! Re-Cycle is an amazing local charity (based in Wormingford) that ships bikes to Africa to change lives! Our event HQ will be set at Re-Cycle, so everyone can have a look at the amazing work that is done here!
We will be offering two challenging fully sign-posted routes,with maps available online.
- 65 miles RT with 3000 ft elevation (105 km, 900m climbing)
- 40 miles RT with 1800 ft elevation (68 km, 550m climbing)

Format for 2022
Event HQ and sign on opens from 8amam
This year to help with catering at the HQ and to improve safety on the event the groups will start at the new times shown below
65 miles: The Gold ride departs event HQ at 9:00am with the Silver then Bronze rides starting in quick succession afterwards with timings depending on numbers of riders and size of groups.
65 miles estimate to be completed in:
- Gold: 3hrs 15mins [20 mph average] departs 9:00am
- Silver: 3hrs 36 mins [18 mph average] departs 9:10am
- Bronze: 4hrs 3 mins [16 mph average] departs 9:20am
Any riders under the age of 16 will need to be accompanied by an adult and helmets are compulsory for all riders.
