Event Overview
The 'Red Rat Rampage' is a community fundraising mountain bike challenge event in the Peak District taking place on Sunday 24th September 2022.
There are 3 routes to choose from…
SHORT: ‘Splat the Rat’ - 13km + 300m ascent (as per 2019 route)
MEDIUM: ‘Ring o’Roses' - 39km + 1000m ascent (as per 2019 route)
LONG: ‘Bubonicator’ - 63km + 1650m ascent (new revised route for 2023)
All routes begin in the historical Peak District village of Eyam and are designed to be a ‘Challenge’ and NOT a race.
All routes combine public highway and off road trails.
‘Splat the Rat’ is designed for families (or those with less experience of riding off-road) with riders aged 8 years+ (all U18s MUST be accompanied by an adult on any route) or less able riders.

PLEASE REMEMBER THIS IS NOT A RACE
& is limited to 275 riders.
Route GPXs & Risk assessments are on the official website – https://www.eyampumptrack.co.uk/
PLEASE NOTE RIDER INFO WILL BE UPDATED ON SATURDAY 23rd September in case of any last minute revisions so please check before departing on you journey!
( The GPXs are yet to be modified so await notification of revised routes for 2023 going live.)
Entry will be strictly first come first served via the British Cycling entry system.
Please NOTE-
NO ENTRIES ON THE DAY - ONLY IN ADVANCE SO AS TO ENSURE RIDERS HAVE BRITISH CYCLING INSURANCE WITHIN ENTRY FEE & TO SIMPLIFY MANAGEMENT ON THE DAY
Riders participating in Long route (Bubonicator) MUST register between 8.15 & 9am & DEPART BY NO LATER THAN 9.30am
(Riders arriving at Marshall point at head of Combs after 12noon will NOT be allowed to continue on the long route & will be diverted back on the medium route!)
Riders participating in Medium route (Ring O Roses) MUST register between 9am & 9.45am & DEPART BY NO LATER THAN 10am
Riders participating in the shortest route (Splat the Rat) MUST REGISTER between 10.30am – 12noon & depart by 12.30
Limited FREE Parking available in the village car park on Hawk Hill rd, adhjacent to Public Conveniences.
Participation is ENTIRELY AT RIDERS OWN RISK - Please ensure you have your own personal accident insurance - this can be purchased seperately through British Cycling.
FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY THE WEARING OF HELMETS IS MANDATORY.
Any rider not wearing a helmet will be deemed to be not part of the event.
