Open to Male riders (cat3/4) and Ladies (all Cats)

Total race distance 39 miles (62.7km).

Dispensation received from British Cycling to run the race as Regional B category.

Event also includes SCNEG (Scottish Cycling North East Grampian) Ladies Road Race Championship

This race was originally a ladies only race but due to the situation nationally this year regarding lack of entries after discussion with Scottish Cycling it has been decided to open the event to male Cat 3/4 riders as well.

Aberdeen Wheelers CC is promoting a Quines & Loons Road Race incorporating SCNEG Ladies RR Championship on Sunday 2nd October 2022

Directions to HQ

Midmar is 16 miles West of Aberdeen just off the B9119 (Tarland Road)

Midmar hall is located just through the village at the top of the hill. There are ample car parking spaces. Additional parking can be found in the school car park in the centre of the village. 

Prizes

As sponsorship is in place for both the lady’s main event, the SCNEG Ladies Road Race Championship and the Queen of the Mountains competition the prize funds for these sections are fixed.

The Prize fund for the Male section will be based on total entry fees less costs and prizes will not exceed those for the ladies.

 

Ladies Main Event

There will be prizes for the Top 3 Ladies, Top Junior, Top 4th Cat. Combativity award and Lantern Rouge.

Ladies event - 1st £70 2nd £50 3rd £30

SCNEG Championship - 1st £60 2nd £40 3rd £20

Queen of the Mountains - 1st £40, 2nd £30 3rd £20

Scottish Cycling North East Grampian (SCNEG) Ladies Road Race Championship

There will be prizes for the top 3 with medals (Gold, Silver & Bronze) awarded as appropriate together with the ladies RR championship trophy to the winner. Prizes will also be awarded to the top Junior and Top 4th Cat.

Queen of the Mountains Competition

In addition, there will be a QofM competition with points awarded to the first riders crossing the prime lines on each of the 3 laps.

 

Men’s Prizes

It is hoped to provide prizes for the top 3 males Top junior top 4th Cat. Other prizes may be available dependant on funds.
