RAD racing is back across Exeter, Decoy and Torbay BMX tracks on a formula basis (see details below).

Registration is Online via BC website and on the day entry will be available.

 

5 of 6 rounds required to qualify for medal or top 3 trophy.

 

Racing will be done via Sqorz meaning transponders are required, please ensure you have a transponder and active subscription. Some transponders will be available to hire on a first come first serve basis.

 

Participants and Spectators need to abide by current Government and British Cycling guidance on socially distancing.

 

Registration will be done at point of arrival and track will open at 12.00pm with racing due to start around 1.30pm

 

Racing could be streamed online and by attending you acknowledge and accept this.

 

Formula Racing

Racing will be done on a formula basis and riders will initially be assigned to a formula based on their age, each events will consist of 3 moto’s and a final.

 

Formulas and ages

Riders will be assigned to a formula based on their age in 2022 (when the series ends)

Formula 5 (7 and under)

Formula 4 - (8 to 10)

Formula 3 – (11 to 13)

Formula 2 – (14 to 15)

Formula 1 – (16 to 17)

Formula N - (18+ novice)

Formula 0 - 18+

- for first event ONLY riders can request to start up 1 formula (experienced) or down 1 formula (novice) by agreement with race organisers.

- Riders joining part way through the series will be assigned a formula based on age only.

 

Moving Formulas, after each event

top riders in formula 2-5 get promoted to next formula up

bottom riders in formula 1-4 get demoted to next formula down

 

The number of riders changing formula depends on the numbers in the formula at an individual event:

2-4 riders - 1 rider promoted and 1 rider demoted

5-12 riders - 2 riders promoted, 2 riders demoted

over 12 riders - 3 riders promoted, 3 riders demoted

 

New ranking is applied the next time the rider races in the series.

 

Limitation to moving formulas

- All riders will automatically move 1 formula up or down from age based formula

- Riders being demoted or promoted by 2 formulas from age based formula is optional and agreed with rider (I.e will not be forced)

- Once racing in formula 0 or N rider cannot be demoted

- Promotion to formula 0 or N for 1st place formula 1 only and subject to rider & event organiser agreement

 

- A Formula needs a minimum of 3 riders or will be merged up, for merge into formula 0 this will be by all rider agreement only.

 

Trophies/Medals

Trophies will be awarded based on riders starting formula, if riding up or down a formula points are adjusted for purpose of series standings

Race day schedule

• Registration will be done at point of arrival and will open at 12.00
• Practice will be from 12.00 to 1.00
• Moto's due to start at 1.30pm
• Finals will follow motos with approx 15 min break
