Event Overview

The popular Culloden Challenge ride is back.

In a departure from previous editions the event HQ will be based at Culloden Battlefield postcode IV2 5EU. However, the ride will follow the traditional 42 mile (710m / 2329ft climbing) Wee Battle route, taking riders from Culloden Moor to Dulsie Bridge, Ferness, Nairn outskirts, Cawdor, Croy and back to the start. Very quiet country roads are covered, including single track. See route map here, Strava version here.

The event is promoted to raise funds for Hivelo, to aid their work in bringing a cycling centre, including velodrome to the Highlands.

About the Event

Info for Riders

This version of the event is tailored to the current climate. No timing will be provided and, on this occasion, we regret only being able to cater for 18 plus age categories. A Broom Wagon will follow at the rear to help any rider experiencing difficulty. Participants should be appropriately dressed for the forecast weather conditions, self-sufficient with the food and drink that they will require, as well as carrying a spare tube and basic tool kit.

Additional information will go to entrants via email and / or posted at the Hivelo website where terms and conditions for sportive rides can also be viewed.
