7th Doonbank Trofee - Summer Special

Cyclo-Cross , Ayr – Friday, 04 Jun 2021

Event Summary

Event Overview

The 7th DoonBank Trofee is a promotion of Ayr Burners Cycling QTS. We are grateful to South Ayrshire Council who have granted us permission to host the races at Rozelle Park.

Having missed the 2020/2021 winter Cyclocross Season, the 7th edition will be a unique 'summer special', delivered in line with Covid19 guidance for running outdoor events in Tier 2.   Please note that as a result of ongoing public health restrictions, this event may require late cancellation or postponement.

The event will feature three separate 'bubble' events, with reduced capacity fields:

Bubble 1: Under 12 fun ride (20mins)

Bubble 2: Women and Juniors (40mins)

Bubble 3: Open category (45mins)

To ensure the racing and enjoyable, a short course format will be used with an estimated lap time of 4minutes, on a course expected to run much faster in the 'dry' summer.    However, expect some of the usual trademark features including Belgian Steps and the 'Rope Run'.

Due to the limited capacity at the event, priority will be made to Scottish Cycling South West member clubs.

U12s will be invited to participated in a fun-run style event where the course will be open for 20minutes and a medal will be presented to all participants.  This will not be a competitive event. All U12 riders should register via the link on www.ayrburners.org in advance of the event.
