About the Event

Info for Riders

This session is for youth A/B bike riders.

 

In order for riders to be considered for these sessions riders must meet at least one of the below criteria: 

  • Have track accreditation 
  • Ride in the MRTL or ACT Track League
  • Track RSR or Apprentice Rider

Please either enter the sprint or the endurance group only as these will will be operating as separate groups at the session. The sprint group is for riders who are interested in track sprint or interested in engaging in sprint based training. 


In order to be eligible for the sprint group you will need to be able to show you can can complete the below skills first at sessions to the coaches. As it is important that riders develop there fundemental skills first as there will be less time to do skills within the sprint groups. 

  • Be able to confidently ride high and slow at the top of the track 
  • Be able to confidently get out the saddle in the banking and complete an entire lap out the saddle
  • Be able to dynamically move around the track and use track gradients
  • Be able to track stand on the track 
  • Be able to confidently perform madison at race speed safely 

The sessions will cost £6:00 each week and will run from 19:40 - 22:00 and the riders will need to be signed on and ready for a briefing for 19:40. Group sizes will be initially limited to 15 riders per group due to to current guidance. 

I will send out the final information the Monday before each session with details of the session content and what equipment will be needed.

Covid-19 Information:

If you, or anyone in your household is shielding or displaying any covid-19 symptoms do not attend this session. The on-bike sessions are designed to meet current social-distancing and hygiene requirements. Please respect normal social-distancing and hygiene requirements when off the bikes too.

  • Keep 1m apart. Stay in your designated chair and keep your area clear.
  • Do not share equipment.
  • Your own equipment should be clean and sanitised before you use it.
  • Parents will not be allowed to spectate at sessions and there will be drop off and pick up point
