Designed by cyclists for cyclists, our Big Wheel Sportive aims to give you a spectacular summer’s day cycling, taking in the views of the local picturesque villages and stunning Hampshire countryside to raise funds for St. Michael's Hospice. Beginning at our BRAND NEW LOCATION for 2020… War Memorial Park, you can choose to cycle one of our 4 NEW ROUTES.

Info for Riders

  • 80 Mile Route: a classic route for experienced cyclists embracing pace, climbing and endurance skills to challenge and bring success at the end of your ride. Opportunity to seek gold, silver or bronze standards. 
  • 48 Mile Route: ideally suited to club riders and social cyclists looking to challenge themselves and tackle classic climbs through the Hampshire countryside. 
  • 28 Mile Route: a carefully designed ride that will suit new and social cyclists who wish to be more adventurous on a brand-new route.
  • 8 Mile Route: a gentle ride for beginners starting out on the roads to gain confidence and experience on a well signposted route. 

Please note, that by signing up to the 80 mile route, you confirm that you will be able to cycle a minimum of 12 mph average and complete the ride returning to War Memorial Park by 17.15. If you do not reach mile 21 by 11.15 you will be redirected onto the 48 mile.

All routes have bike support, refreshment stops (excluding 8 mile), medal upon completion, medical cover, advanced route assistance (motorbikes and 4x4), safety marshals on route and chip timing with results will be published after the ride is complete.

Free parking is available at Old Common Car Park (off London Road) and a 5 minute walk away from the main arena. Toilets and refreshments will be on site; however, we are unable to provide changing facilities.
