Beastway London Summer Cyclocross Series 2020
Four races in four weeks at four venues on Thursdays in July.
2 July     Jubilee Park, Leyton
9 July     Bethlem Hospital, Bromley
16 July   Hog Hill, Hainault
23 July   Herne Hill, Dulwich
PLUS a Gravel event on SUNDAY 12 July. Tour of the Hopfields (more on the series website).

Following last year’s binge over two months, we have decided to leave the calendar free during August when we know there are plans for races in the wider SE region beyond London. The Summer Cross races are a chance for lots of testing for both bikes and riders as new people come in to try our sport.  – Perhaps they will stay at it into the ‘muddy months’

Info for Riders

Pre-entry closes at 11pm on 30 June

Sign on and HQ is in the park pavilion where there will be changing, toilets and light refreshments.

Car parking is limited all around the park.

Beastway Timing is running the sign on and race results, which means chips are mounted on your number. The number board mounts on your seatpin and saddle rails using the tabs we provide. No zip-ties please.
We will also supply a number to pin on your back. Keep hold of all the numbers in your rider pack for all races in the series.

Sign-on and race results is being run by Beastway Timing, using its chips and software. We will have a lot of number boards to get to pre-entered riders, so it's likely that entering on the day will be a slow process.

There will be a separate table for pre-entries at sign-on. Make sure you don't join the long queue for entries on the day.

Results will be published at www.beastwayresults.co.uk and a write up will be on the blog www.beastwaymtb.com

There will be time for a sighting and practice lap immediately prior to the start. These are OneBike races and there shall be no gridding. Riders are not permitted to ‘hang’ near the start and may be bumped to the back where there is always a space for them to start. Sometimes the start will be in a place you might not expect and those on the sighting lap will get to it first….

OneBike means no spares laying course-side, no pits and no repairs with outside assistance. If you can race with any repair materials, you are welcome to use them in case of need. The intention of this rule is to simplify non-ranking events for all riders, but especially for those coming new to the sport. Please respect the rule, make sure you have puncture resistant tyres and a properly maintained bike. This rule was extensively trialled last year and we know there is no need for leniency.

The opening round at Jubilee Park, Leyton is made possible with the help of HubVelo, Stayer Cycles and Lee Valley Youth CC.
