Created to host the 2014 Commonwealth Games, Cathkin has played host since then to the UEC European Championships, the British XC championships and is looking ahead to 2023 when Glasgow becomes the centre of the UCI world championships, so it's fair to see it has pedigree when it comes to important bike races!

The SXC has been a regular visitor to the south side of Glasgow for a long time now, and this year we're hosting the 2020 Scottish XC championships here, with the weather hopefully a bit warmer than it was last season. We'll be using our local knowledge to put together a fun, testing course with one or two surprises in store!

Please remember that championship medals can only be contested by eligible riders in championship categories, and entries MUST be received two weeks ahead of the race. We'll remind everyone nearer the time. For those of you not looking to add a Scottish title to your palmares, entry will be reopened after the champs closing date, but any entries received after this time cannot be eligible for a title.

Info for Riders

This season we're introducing a new category - Young Taster - for riders aged 12-17 new to XC racing or planning a comeback. The Young Taster race will last for one lap and run alongside the U12 and Female Taster categories as the first race of the day at 1030.

For all other categories the race day timetable will be the same as last season, with Sport & Veteran Female, Juvenile, Youth, Super Veteran Male and Taster Male categories starting at 1115 and all other full-course categories racing at 1400.

The U8 and U10 races will again take place at 1300 on a separate course designed to suit young riders with the emphasis on fun and skills development.

Sign will be open from 0900 (1130 for U8 & U10) with practice slots available ahead of each race.

We're often asked about camping facilities - some venues have camping available, others don't. We're speaking to the land owner at each venue to see what's what, so keep an eye on the Facebook page and website and we'll update these with all the info we have as we get it.
