These Women's Coaching to Racing Sessions are a structured programme over 3 sessions that will give you the skills and confidence you need to enter your first road race! The venue is the Hillingdon cycle circuit, where you get 1 mile of lovely smooth tarmac with plenty of experienced coaches, so you can learn and improve your skills safely.
The main topics you'll cover are:
- Bunch riding
- High- and Low-speed Cornering
- Climbing and Descending
- Sprinting scenarios
- Attacking and bridging gaps
- High- and Low-speed bike handling
- Strength and fitness

Each session builds on the last so the more you can attend the better, plus there'll be a mini-race at the end of each session to put your skills into practice.

About the Event

Info for Riders

Session 3 is a round-up of the first 2 and will focus on putting what you've learned into race craft. You'll cover:
- Close bunch riding and contact
- Advanced cornering
- Braking skills
- Bunch sprinting
- Moving up the bunch
- Mini-race at the end
- Race strategy advice

Essentials: Helmet and gloves. NO mudguards, lights etc. (securely attached computers OK). Normal close-fitting cycling gear, no sleeveless tops. Bottle of water/sports drink (drinking water available).

The weather can be variable and it's usually windy at Hillingdon so bring spare clothes to layer up.

Tea, coffee and snacks provided and included in your entry fee.
