 HSBC UK Club Clusters of coaching

Overview

HSBC UK Go-Ride Club Clusters of Coaching are 50% skill and 50% fitness. 

They are aimed at riders who would like to upskill their cycling skills through Road, Track or MTB coached techniques. And/or thinking to race events or currently racing. These sessions sit above club level in the development pathway. 


Each club cluster will have a different coaching outcomes progressing and focusing on different techniques and skills throughout the year.


Each club cluster can also include an educational workshop.

This specific Club Cluster of Coaching is going to be focusing on your Bunch Racing Skills and Tactics on the track. This should then hopefully prepare you for upcoming events such as The Ice Breaker Series, Mini-League and more.

We are going to be videoing the exercises and the showing the riders them to improve the quality of the feedback and to encourage the riders to think about how to improve their own performance.

We will then be delivering an educational workshop to the riders basic nutritrition, So the things that are good to eat, the things that are bad for you, when to eat and when not to eat. 

Criteria

General

  • All riders must be aged 10-16.
  • Part of Go-Ride accredited club.
  • British Cycling Members Only
  • Welsh Eligible (Parent who is born in Wales, Be born in Wales or resided in Wales for the last 5 years)

Track Specific

  • Be able to confidently ride on the blue line continuously for at least 10 laps (Indoor Velodrome)
  • To be able to hold a wheel, staying a maximum of 1 bike length apart.
  • To be able to look over your shoulder without coming off of your line.
  • To be able to confidently get out of the saddle and accelerate on an indoor velodrome.

The session will start at 11:00. I suggest arriving at least 15 minutes before to allow time to sign on, get equipment ready. 

Arrive no later than- 10:45

The Track Session - 11:00- 13:00 

Workshop- 13:00- 14:30

CCC Finish 14:30

Work


All riders will be required to bring the following...

- A working track bike. *A hire bike is not permitted. 

- Helmet

- Gloves (Short or Long finger)

- Pump

- Notepad and Pen

- Snacks and Drinks (Enough to last the three hours)
