Methlick Cycle Challenge

OnRoad Leisure , Methlick – Sunday, 12 Jul 2020

Event Summary

Event Overview

The 2020 Methlick Cycle Challenge will start at The Beaton Hall, Methlick and we are again raising funds for local organisations/charities The event features 23, 42 and 69 mile route options and having reviewed the 2019 post event feedback we have slightly adjusted last years routes, avoiding the busier sections of the Formatine & Buchan Way and adding some additional challenges.

All participants will be cycling on safe and quiet B roads, farm tracks, estate paths, fire trails and purpose built cycle paths (disused railway lines) throughout North Aberdeenshire. The route will be fully marked with busier junctions also marshalled by our team. Feed and drink stations will be available in a few locations along the route.

The finish will be at the Methlick cricket pitch where a BBQ and beer tent awaits. There will also be changing facilities available in the Beaton Hall.

About the Event

Info for Riders

Test your endurance with our 69 mile cycle challenge on road, old train lines and forestry tracks including the Formatine & Buchan Way . Or the 42 mile or 23 mile route may be more appealing.

As the terrain is both on and offroad we recommend the use of gravel bikes/mountain bikes/cyclocross bikes or anything that can cope with some rough roads and cycle paths.
