Welsh Cycling Open Track Session

*Suitable for riders aged between 10-16*

A great opportunity to come and ride the Geraint Thomas National Velodrome of Wales. 

Welsh Cycling will be delivering 4x open track sessions to come and either try out the track for the first time, Improve your skills on the track or even just get a bit of riding in on the boards in the build up to Christmas. 

Each Session will be split between Beginners and Experienced riders rotating in 15 minute slots. With the time available you will deffinetly get the best out of your time on the boards. 

Each session starts at 18:00 and will finish at 20:00. I do ask that you do turn up at least 15 minutes before the session to allow time to get yourself signed on, bike ready and ready to ride. 

To access the session you will need to be at least 10 years old (Consent forms will be required which will document your age).

*Bikes are available to hire at the reception of the Velodrome- Please contact Newport Live directly if you need a hire bike.

Info for Riders

All riders must be Welsh Eligible...

  • Born in Wales.
  • Have a parent who is Welsh 
  • Have resided in Wales for 5 years. 

Requirments 

  • All riders must wear gloves when riding the track (Short finger gloves are acceptable).
  • Your helmet must not have a peak (MTB helmet).
  • You will not be able to ride dual compound tyres (Different colour on the side walls).
  • Most importantly... Have Fun!
