Event Summary

Event Overview

Yorkshire lass sportive (YLS) is going to be back on the 15th August 2021 "Yorkshire lass day" organised Yorkshire cogs and Roses cycling club style.
  • It will be held at Carlton Lodge Activity Centre, Carlton Miniott, Thirsk, YO7 4NJ where the previous Yorkshire Lass sportives have been held.
  • For  2021  there will be new routes for the Yorkshire Lass sportive, we promise there will be amazing scenery and the same support with regards to well-stocked feed stations, mechanical help and good signage. We will have motorbike marshalls going around the course looking after riders. We will also have ride angels from Yorkshire Cogs and Roses cycling club supporting riders on each route.
  • Not forgetting to mention the medal, cake and a cuppa on your return to headquarters where you will also receive a rowdy warm Yorkshire welcome as you cross the finish line.
  • We will be back in 2021 running the sportive with help from Yorkshire Cogs & Roses Cycling Club. New name but same lovely bunch of lasses, You will see a lot of them dotted all over Yorkshire in the run-up to our sportive, Just look out for them in the lovely Cogs & Roses Kit.
  • The kit was designed by our lovely Kit designers one of them being  Fiona Burrell who has designed the 2021 sportive jersey that is available for sale, with a percentage of the proceeds going to our charities.
  • We will be raising funds in 2021  for Breast cancer care, Jo's cervical trust, Ovarian cancer action, Carlton Lodge Bursary fund and Macmillan cancer support.
  • We have a very supportive Yorkshire Lass sportive Facebook page, where you can chat to other entrants and find out lots of useful information, don't worry if you are riding on your own you can also use it to find ladies to ride with.
  • We are very lucky as in we can also provide accommodation for the weekend at the sportive base, Carlton Lodge Activity Centre. The accommodation is basic dormitory accommodation or we can also provide camping facilities at the Centre. "No need for such an early start,  you can roll out of bed to the start line"
  • Accommodation and camping can be booked by emailing Yorkshirelasssportive@hotmail.com
We are looking forward to seeing you in 2021 - Please "bring me sunshine"

Yorkshire lass sportive (YLS) is going to be back on the 15th August 2021 "Yorkshire lass day" organised Yorkshire cogs and Roses cycling club style.

  • Join us by celebrating by riding in Yorkshire, "Gods own country"
  • We would also like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their hard work and generous contributions over the past 4 yrs. You have collectively helped make  YLS the success it is and helped to raise £83,400 so far for our chosen charities, we are hoping for the total target to exceed  £100,000 raised next year. Fingers crossed and watch this space.
  • In  2021 we will have help running the sportive with members of the Yorkshire Cogs & Roses cycling club. New name but same lovely bunch of lasses.
  • You will still have the same amazing support you receive at a Yorkshire Lass sportive, plenty of well-stocked feed stations, mechanical support and well-signed routes.
  • The sportive has three routes, short, medium and long. There is something for everyone. So whether you are new to sportives or a seasoned sportive rider the Yorkshire lass sportive is the one for you.
  • The sportive is ladies only, sorry gents, but if you wanted to come and support your partners, wives, sisters you are quite welcome. We just ask you do not ride the route with them.
  • Only one questions remains who is brave enough to take on the LONG ROUTE which includes one of the Iconic Yorkshire climbs known as  Buttertubs Pass?
