A Dirt Crit is a cross-country mountain bike race for young riders aged 6 to 16. They are entry level events, designed to offer new riders the opportunity to try racing in a less pressurised atmosphere, as well as provide a competitive experience for more experienced riders.

This is a round of the Scottish Cycling North Dirt Crit series and is hosted by Black Isle Mountain Bike Club.

Clubs from across the north will host rounds to form the series.

Sign on opens          9:30am

Sign on closes         10:30am

Course opens for practice    9:30am (Under 6 & 8's)

Course closes for practice    10.30am (Under 6 & 8’s)

Guided practice 10.00am (Under 10, 12, 14 & 16’s) - must be signed on prior

 

Dirt Crit with a difference.

Race times are being extended so you have more time riding your bike.

Under 6 & Under 8's Races will be Mass start with seeding as per Series points table.

 

Race Start Times

U6's       10:45am

10mins race plus 1 lap with water & food stop as required at pit area.

 

U8's       11:15am

15mins race plus 1 lap with water & food stop as required at pit area.

PODIUMS Under 6 & Under 8 - 11:45am

 

Under 10/12/14 & 16's will be a 3-part Stage race.

These will be in the format of time trial with riders starting individually and having timed sections with untimed transition sections between stages.

 

Stage 1 - START

Under 10 - 12.00noon

Under 12 - 12:15pm

Under 14/16 - 12:30pm

followed by a transition to Stage 2

Stage 2 will start once the age category is ready.

 

Stage 3 - START

Under 10 - 1.00pm

Under 12 - 1:30pm

Under 14/16 - 2:00pm

 

PODIUMS Under 10, 12, 14 & 16 - 2.45pm
