The Craig Armitage Trophy Road Race 2019

Road , Selby – Sunday, 14 Jul 2019

Event Summary

Event Overview

In its fourth year, we are pleased to announce the Craig Armitage Trophy Road Race 2019.

On this fantastic circuit for the rouleur, puncheur or sprinteurrrr we hold the race in the honour and memory of our great friend, team mate, lifelong cyclist, racer and coach, Craig Armitage, 1972-2015.

This circuit was the scene of many placings and a fantastic win for Craig. It was, in his own words "my circuit", and he proved that in 2012 with a win.

Craig was very sadly killed in a cycling accident and left his three young kids and his wife, Jill, too early. His life had just changed for the better, co-owning InGear Coaching, a Leeds based cycle coaching company in Otley, before the accident that took his life on February 15th 2015.

The race is to commemorate Craig's life, his incredible passion for cycling and to continue his legacy through competitive racing.

The trophy records the previous winners of the race. The Trophy stays with us, but a significant prize list will be offered to the victorious few!

We aim to recycle as much of the entry as possible fee back into prizes.

Sponsors for prime prizes are always welcome and prizes will be announced on the day.

This year, Community Traffic Management ltd have had to increase their costs, due to North Yorkshire traffic acts and so the entry fee is going up. You know that this just means that the race will be safer and that the prizes will always be good.

Long may we ride!

Due to the 'events' of last year's race, we'll put a slightly different format into the race primes, to be announced on the day. Should be fun ;-)
