HSBC UK Go-Ride - Scottish Cycling Track Development Cluster - Spring

Go-Ride , Glasgow – Sunday, 14 Apr 2019

Event Summary

Event Overview

HSBC UK Go-Ride - Scottish Cycling - Track Development Cluster Sessions are a series of coaching sessions designed to develop new track racers.  Riders will be allocated to groups from beginner upwards creating a progressive pathway from riding to racing.

The overall aim of the sessions is for riders to gain their Acrreditation 4, allowing them to progress to further track training and racing.  For the majority of riders it is likely to take 2 blocks of development clusters to reach full accrediation.

All riders will be given a partial level of accrediation at the end of their first block, dependent on their progression (Accreditation 1 or Accreditation2), which will be included as part of the cluster block.

Riders attending for their 2nd block, will have the opportunity to complete their Accrediation 3 and Accrediation 4 during dedicated Glasgow Life sessions, after the cluster session, on particluar days throughout the block.  These accrediation sessions will be an additonal cost and dates will be provided at the first session.

Throughout the clusters the coaches will advise riders when they are ready to complete each level of accreditation and assist with the booking process.

The sessions are not an exclusive programme; riders are encouraged to attend other Glasgow Life track sessions where possible.

Please note that in order to progess and get the most from each session riders do need a certain level of fitness and general strength which is necessary to ride on the track banking. In general we would recommend riders are born 2007 or older to complete the full block of sessions.

Sessions are open to:

  • Youth Rider (born in 2003 - 2008 and Junior Riders (born in 2001 and 2002) - Younger riders who have been involved in Development Clusters before, please contact the Event Organiser
  • Riders who have not completed their Glasgow Life Accreditation.

All sessions must be booked online (no entries on the day) and be attended as a complete block, costing £87.60. (plus £1 admin fee) for the full 6 sessions.  This cost includes all bike and equipment hire.

We strongly advice all riders that participate in all our programmes to take out BC membership for liability insurance, plus other benefits. For riders moving into racing, membership will become mandatory.

Sessions will run from 09:00-11:00 and 11:00-13:00 and the dates listed below and riders will be allocated to a specific session depending on their group.  Full details of grouping will be sent to riders once entries have closed.
