Kingston Wheelers are proud to present the inaugural Maria Thompson Memorial Road Race for 2/3/4 Women and Junior Women.


Points will be awarded separately in the Adult and Junior categories.

Cash prizes and medals will be awarded to the podium finishers. 

This race will be held on the Staple Hill circuit and be based in Chobham Rec.


Just a quick note about Maria Thompson. She joined Kingston Wheelers in 2010 and rapidly became everyone's favourite companion on Clubruns, with her sense of humour and inciteful banter. She also became a well respected racer, culmating in placing at the National Vets champs. She died from an aneurysm whilst riding her bike home from work in Richmond Park in 2017 She is sorely missed by all who met her.

GEAR RESTRICTIONS DO APPLY TO JUNIORS - see technical regulation 3.3.1.

Juniors shall be restricted to a maximum gear such that the distance covered per crank revolution is 7.93 meters.

All bikes will need to be checked prior to sign on and the first three riders plus any picked at random in addition to those using gear locking will be rechecked as soon as the event finishes. If the bike does not meet the regulations the rider will be disqualified.

 

Online entry will close on the Wednesday before each race at 12.00.
