Event Summary

Event Overview

Big Tim’s Big Day Out is a cycle sportive in memory of Tim Stevens and a way for all local South East cyclists to donate to the Royal Marsden Hospital charity. For those who knew Tim, this day will bring you all together again, and for those who didn’t know Tim, read more here, watch the video and be inspired to ride. Or to just donate anyway, visit the JustGiving page

Last year we raised over £3000 for the Royal Marsden Hospital from entries fees, donations, raffle and charity auction.

This year a BBQ lunch is included in your entry fee, we have a couple of live bands and a well stocked Belgian styme bar.

We now have a fully traffic free route for the Espresso ride within the showgrounds, so a perfect place to ride with your family.

If you would like to bring the family, just enter them on the Espresso ride and they will get a food  voucher for the BBQ when they register.

About the Event

Info for Riders

Big Tim’s Big Day Out is a ride of 90km – the Grande - or a ride of 50km – the Cortado. Created by none other than Sean Yates, both rides start and finish at the South of England Showground at Ardingly and head off towards the Ashdown Forest to take in some classic local climbs. The route splits at Splaynes Green, the Grande heading south through some rolling terrain to Ringmer before heading back north. The Cortado takes a slightly easier route back to Ardingly, but beware, both routes have a sting in the tail…

This year we are holding a BIG BBQ at the Showground with food for all finishers as well as other offerings to purchase, and the BeerMe Belgian brewery will provide a beer for all riders at the pop-up bar. Electronic multi point chip timing, super-fast registration make for a great day on the road. Enter now via the British Cycling website, £32 for the Grande, £29 for the Cortado, Espresso Family Ride £15.00
