Event Summary

Event Overview

The Somerset 100 - one of the friendliest rides of the year.
EVERYONE comes back year after year and rides this one. IT IS NOT A TIMED SPORTIVE. We're not fans of 'racing for the deluded'.... but it is a great opportunity to ride without pressure but supported by vehicle backup - a great friendly event where riders from all over the county meet up every year.

About the Event

Info for Riders

Parking in paddock open from 7am.
Sign on from 7.15am
(you will be on the distance you entered list)
Rider briefing 8.20am
FIRST MAIN START -  8.30am
(safe neutral style rolling start)
Second 'Soft' Start 8.50am
(so if you're running late or waiting for a friend don't worry)

3 route options
- choice of a friendly 58k (36m), 107k (66m) or a more sporting 164k (100mile 'Century' ride). Vehicle support is on course throughout - it's mostly level on the two shorter routes.

Our most popular 100mile 'Century' route, suits club riders. First 60miles is rolling parcour through some beautiful countryside and parts of Somerset your probably have never seen. After the final 'feed' you ascend steadily on a parcour that has recovery between any hard sections. No macho gradients, all tempo riding and a rewarding long descent off the Mendip Hills near the end of the course. The final miles are on the levels back to the finish. Great event to meet others and ride in groups of varying ability without any pressure.
