Event Overview

Women and Girls Rider Developments Sessions provide a dedicated coaching environment for females wanting to improve their cycling performance.

All sessions are delivered on a traffic free closed road circuit by a Go Ride Coach to help you:

  • Ride with friends or other riders
  • Learn about group riding and etiquette
  • Develop bike handling techniques
  • Develop cycling fitness

These sessions are designed to be technically and physically challenging in a safe, fun and supportive environment. These sessions are 2 hours of coaching alongside riders of a similar ability.

Non British Cycling members are welcome to attend but membership is encouraged: https://www.britishcycling.org.uk/membership.


Winter Series Race Preparation Session - 10 - 12pm

This session is for intermediate and advanced riders and is NOT suitable for beginners or those new to group riding. Typically you will be a club rider who is interested in racing or has tried racing. If you are unsure about your suitability please contact the organiser.

You will need a road bike with drop handlebars for this session. Please note that tri-bars are not permitted in group riding activities.

Sessions are delivered on a traffic-free, closed road circuit. These sessions are aimed at improving group riding skills and confidence - riding on a wheel and in close proximity to other riders, cornering and race scenarios. Your skills and fitness will be challenged in a supportive and non-pressured environment.

Non British Cycling Members are welcome to attend but you are strongly encouraged to join British Cycling to benefit from further sessions and additional benefits - https://www.britishcycling.org.uk/membership

About the Event

Info for Riders

You will need to bring:

  • A bike - in good working order ( a free hub road bike with drop handlebars and gears, no tri bars)
  • Helmet and gloves
  • Appropriate clothing for the weather conditions. We will be outdoors even if it is raining. The track is rideable in the rain.
  • Two bottles and snacks
Also, be prepared for a good physical workout with techniques coached throughout the session on improving all aspects of your bike riding.
