Event Summary

Event Overview

This event is a two distance road ride, the full 100km and a shorter 68 km route , both rides will feature some of the iconic Chiltern Hills, the long route will be a tough ride for early season and given the time of year good tyres are recommended. The route takes you through the undulating terrain of the Chiltern Hills via Chesham, Gt Missenden, Stokenchurch, Gt Kingshill and The Chalfonts with some steep climbs thrown in for good measure.

The event will be limited in terms of numbers with a maximum field of 300 riders. the routes will be signposted and GPS files will be available.

This will be a ride to test yourself over the distance, no food stops will be provided but there will be plenty of food at the HQ for pre and post event carbs as well as the provision of a licensed bar for those not driving back.

This event has now been run for the last 9 years with people complementing the event for the friendly atmosphere and well marked challenging route

For our regulars this year we have had a shake up and the routes have been changed to avoid Marlow town centre which has become to busy, the good news for most is that we now avoid Winter Hill, the bad news is we have found a steeper hill!

Once again we will be starting the event at the Chiltern Sports and Social Club, Maple Lodge , Maple Cross which is easily accesible from the M25 /M40 where there is plenty of car parking, showers, catering and access to a licensed bar.

Riders will start in groups and there will be 3 times to aim for

Long route
Gold  3.5hrs
Silver 4.15
Bronze  5.00

Short Route
Gold Route 2.30
Silver 3.00

Bronze 4.00

There will be a sag wagon at the rear of the event in the case of mechanical misfortune

Entry fee will be £15 pre entry and £20 on the day

On line entry will be via the British Cycling website ,

The event is organised by members of the WDMBC organisers of sportive events and races both on and off road for the last 29 years and current organisers of the popular West Thames series.

We look forward to seeing you.
