This is a new event for the League at an old venue. This venue not been used for a few years and, under the leadership of Catherine Pascoe, is jointly being organised by

Bournemouth Arrow Cycling ClubBournemouth Jubilee Cycling ClubNew Forest Cycling ClubPoole Wheelers Cycling Club

Any profits made (and on the day we will have a collection bucket) are being donated to the local Air Ambulance and to the local Air Cadets Squadron, who will be helping us with car parking as well as various other jobs on the day.

About the Event

Info for Riders

Venue:

Gaddens Close Farm, Charles’s Lane, Crow Hill, Ringwood, Hampshire, BH24 3FB

This postcode is the nearest.  The entrance will be a gravel track leading to the car park in the bottom field.  There will be a sign there to guide you.  The entrance and exit tracks will be one way, so please follow the signs as the tracks are narrow.

 

Getting there:

For riders coming down the M3/M27 and onto the A31, take the exit off the A31 signposted to Burley.  Turn left at the roundabout, then right at the junction and continue across the heath (watch out for free roaming horses and cattle!).  Take the first right, just before the Burley village sign, and continue right.  Take the first left into Charles’s Lane and continue until you see the signs for the event.   

 

For riders coming down the A338 from Salisbury, on reaching the roundabout at Ringwood, beneath the A31 overpass, take the first exit onto the A31 and continue up the hill to the exit signposted Burley.  Take the exit, continue past the garage on the mini roundabout, go down the hill and turn right to go underneath the A31.  Follow the road up onto the heath and continue across the heath (watch out for free roaming horses and cattle!).  Take the first right, just before the Burley village sign, and continue right.  Take the first left into Charles’s Lane and continue until you see the signs for the event.  

 

Car parking:

Car parking will be supervised by the Air Cadets from the 2358 (Ferndown) Squadron.  These young people are giving up their Sunday to help out.  I know you will all be respectful.

Gazebos:

If you are bringing a club gazebo, you can drive up to the main arena to set up.However, access may depend on the ground conditions.

Toilets:

Toilets are being provided by Loos2Go.  

Food and drink:

Food will be provided by Dan Robinson.  Hitch ‘n’ Hop will be providing proper coffee and hot chocolate.  

Dogs:

The venue is used for grazing for horses and cattle.  Dogs are welcome but must be on a lead.
