Hamsterley Beast

Offroad Endurance , County Durham – Sunday, 12 May 2019

Event Summary

Event Overview

The Hamsterley Beast has now become the biggest cycle event of any kind to be held in Hamsterley forest. All set in the heart of County Durham’s beautiful landscape.

The route is split in to three lengths this year 40 miles, 20 miles and 12 miles for young uns. Or any one for that matter. All of which start and finish within Hamsterley forest.

As with previous years, it's a challenge and NOT a race. The challenge is to finish!! The event is open to anyone, young and old, teams and individuals, both serious and fun cyclists. The Hamsterley Beast event team thrive to offer a fun, professional and a safe event, with a very relaxed atmosphere. But it goes without saying the riding and backdrops are at the top of everyone's list. It doesn't matter what you ride or how you ride it, we're all just there to have fun and raise some money for the Great North Air Ambulance Services.

This year the Beast is really knocking it up a notch! Following the success of the 2018 mini music festival, we will be bringing you even more live music, food and beer. Watch out for some cool "glamping" options too. There are a limited number of camping spots, so it’s best to get your camping booked early.  Camping information and costs can be found here.

About the Event

Info for Riders

E BIKES are welcome at THE BEAST. But will have their own start time slightly later . This is due the nature of the course changes and we don't want you getting to parts of the course before we are ready for you. Also you will need to stay behind the front riders. IF you catch them you will be asked by Marshalls to stop .

As stated above this is for SAFETY reasons only. We work off rider times to move Marshalls around and re mark the route. thank you Team Beast.

We are again looking to share your email address with the Great North Air Ambulance Service. For the sole purpose of providing you with relevant information. If you prefer that we don't pass on your details please click to opt out.. They may contact you with regards to this event unless you request otherwise.
