Event Overview

Barnsley Road Club are delighted to promote again the Barnsley Boudary Heroes Ride (in aid of Help for Heroes). This year we are offering 3 route options The Classic boundary route - https://www.strava.com/routes/11749411
The Extreme boundary route, including the fearsome climbs of Pea Royd Lane, Stocksbridge and Scar Hole Lane, Jackson Bridge; both with severe gradients c 20+ % - https://www.strava.com/routes/7385701 Both distances are 80 mile/120km route takes with over 2500 mtrs of climbing, in the heart of the Yorkshire countryside. And ... The Ultra boundary route https://www.strava.com/routes/11537026, a 96 mile route, which features the Extreme route PLUS 4 internationally proven climbs - Bolsterstones, Wigtwizzle, Ewden Bank, and Holme Moss (Southern Climb). The sting in the tail maybe the lesser known Vineyard climb with its 30% hairpin. This is a truly brutal route, only the hardest will suceed. We are inspired to ride for Help For Heroes in the memory of Pte Matthew Adam Thornton of the 4th battalion of the Yorkshire regiment who was killed during active service in Afghanistan on the 9th November 2011.

The Boundary fund, including a 3 day walk, has now raised over £50,000.
