HSBC UK Go-Ride Holiday Coaching Camps offer training and education dedicated to specific levels of rider over a range of disciplines. Camps are available at two levels.

If your child is new to cycling or not a regular at a club or races then the beginner’s camps are for them. These offer the participant a chance to develop and become proficient at a range of core cycling and bike handling techniques that will prepare them for their first club session or race.

If your child has experience of racing and is a Go-Ride Club regular then there are advanced camps. There will be the chance to improve on the skills developed at their club as well as look at techniques across disciplines that will progress your child to the next level of their cycling journey.

Info for Riders

Level of camp- North West Go-Ride RSR/CCT prep(coaching) will be a series of coaching sessions throughout the summer to provide a platform for Youth A,B,C  including Junior Girls riders to up-skill all aspects of their riding allowing a more comfortable transition into CCT,RSR sessions and track league racing. These are sessions that will focus track racing skills and will be physically, technically and tactically demanding.

Suitable for- All riders need to have ridden the track and be competent riding in a bunch on the track and also in riding the rollers. Riders will need to provide their own rollers.(There are a limited number of Roller that can be hired)

A – New comers to the sport that have not had the years of club coaching as a U12/U14 and the less developed Youth A riders that lack the Physical and technical level that is needed at CCT and RSR sessions.

B – All B’s with the exception of riders that are on GBCT pathway as an apprentice rider.

C – All youth C riders that are competitive racing at an regional level.

Track Cycling

What to expect- The riders will be put into two different ability groups by the coaches and may be moved between groups if required. The advanced group would be the more experienced riders who might already have track accreditation or are in the advanced group in club clusters. The Intermediate group will be the less experienced riders who might be in the advanced or intermediate groups at club clusters. The sessions are not suitable for beginners as riders MUST be competent track riders and competent at group riding as the sessions will be based on group racing.

Junior Girls – All Junior girls that are racing or intend to race in the near future.

Enter on line in advance like a race. No entry on the day.

Session will be physically challenging as well with the aim of providing good ride time on the session (adjusted to suit the age/level of rider. There will be no slacking in these session though ;)

A workshops looking at the basics in how bike works- wheels in and out? Kit bag? Race day prep? Diet? Goals? Training? tools to take to race day

PARENT FREE ZONE!!! Parents will be expected to leave once session has started.

CPD for club coach’s, Coaches must tell us if they’re coming so they can be allocated things to do. Feedback will be given to riders by the Lead Coach at the end of the sessions.

Please bring ROLLERS, tyres prefer no tubs, no deep sections, discs / race wheels, 2 bottles, 2 spare inner tubes, mini/track pump, multi tool, tyre levers, tools needed for track bike, leg / arm warmers, jacket / gilet, track mitts, racing licence, pen & pad to take notes.
