Wolfpax Scottish Cycling North Mini Downhill - World Cup Qualifier

MTB DH , Laggan – Sunday, 13 May 2018

Event Summary

Event Overview

Wolfpax are excited to be hosting one of the rounds of the Scotland North Mini Downhill races at Laggan Wolftrax. This is a World Cup Final Qualifying Event. Mini Downhills are entry level competitions with timed descents. There will be harder lines for more experienced riders and easier lines for less confident or experienced riders. It is mandatory to wear a Full Face Helmet and ride a bike which is suitable for rough natural terrain / trails. Ideally full suspension.

We strongly advise wearing race goggles, gloves, and knee pads. Full body armour, elbow protection and a neck brace are good additions to provide all over personal protection from falls.

The competition will be held on the more challenging "Fort" side of the valley. This is the opposite side of the road from the Cafe and Car park. Event Information will be posted on the Wolfpax Facebook Page with regards to parking, toilet and event registration nearer the race date. Please refer to the facebook page for up to date information.

Please be aware that the Downhill Race Track is a good 5 - 10 minute cycle or a 20!! minute walk from the car park. We advise adults to bring bikes to access the race from the car park. No parking will be allowed on the approach road. Only at Wolftrax main car park.

The start line will is partly sheltered in the trees - however the event is on an open hillside so racers and parents / guardians should come prepared for long waits in the wind and rain!

Disclaimer:

Downhill racing can never be totally safe due to the rough terrain, prevailling weather, speed and competence of each rider. The event organisers will do all they can do reduce risk where appropriate and we encourage riders to look after themselves and others and report problems or concerns to event staff.

With regards to event staff: This event is run by volunteers. We require help on the day for marshalling and other event duties. No Marshalls - NO RACE. Events can run late or be cancelled. Please offer your assistance if you can prior to the event.

The event will run smoothly and the riders will have a more enjoyable day the more help we have.
