Go-Ride , NORTH OF THORNHILL – Saturday, 10 Mar 2018

Event Summary

Event Overview

This event is part of the 2017/2018 Scottish Cycling South West Region R.A.C.E Regional MTB programme for youth MTB racers. This programme consists of a number of one-day coaching sessions delivered by South West region MTB and club coaches.

Sessions are invite only and riders who are interested in attedning should apply for a place using the process on the Scottish Cycling South West Facebook Page.  Once your application has been accepted you should then enter online.  If you have any questions, please contact the event organiser.

These sessions are designed to equip young mountain bike racers (born 2002-2007) with the skills, fitness and knowledge to train effectively and race at Scottish MTB series (SXC) level and beyond, to prepare them to progress on to the R.A.C.E National programme in the future and to help them be the best riders they can be.

Sessions will hopefully be good fun, but will also be hard work, pushing riders’ limits in terms of skill level and fitness and riders must be committed to training and racing in order to attend!

Requirements from riders on this programme are as follows:

• Commit to MTB races in the South West region

• Commit to racing the majority of – if not all –rounds of the SXC series (our local one is Dalbeattie Forest on April 08 2018)

• Be prepared to challenge yourself, get stuck in and not be afraid to fail!
