Ochils Open TT and Fixie Championship 2018

Time Trial , Perthshire – Thursday, 09 Aug 2018

Event Summary

Event Overview

Kinross Cycling Club welcomes you to the Ochils open TT and unofficial Scottish Fixie TT Championships. This event is open to all riders, and has separated categories for cycles with regular gearing, and for those with fixed gear (single speed).  There is a prize fund for riders of fixed gear cycles only.

We have designed a 17.5 mile course to challenge all aspects of your single speed cycling along a scenic route to the south of the Ochils with a sharp sting in the tail! After 14 miles of fast and  flattish road our route lurches north into the Ochil Hills to challenge your strength and stamina in a final 3.5 mile, 600 foot climb to the finish line. You will be rewarded with outstanding views as you return down the hill to the start at Minathort.  Prize money will be offered to the first 3 placed in the single speed category.  Entrants on geared cycles are welcome to enter for the pure joy of taking part. All entrants will receive a voucher for an ice-cream form Giaccopazzis.

Types of bike:  Separate categories for standard road cycles, and for single speed cycles.

The fixie championship event is intended for single speed bicycles only with either a fixed hub  or a free hub.

Entries from competitors riding geared cycles will also be welcome this year.

Competitors can claim their free ice cream at Giacopazzi's in Milnathort after the event.
