Bucks Off Road Sportive 20th Anniversary

Offroad Endurance , Rickmansworth – Sunday, 13 May 2018

Event Summary

Event Overview

This year is our 20th anniversary of running the Bucks Off Road Sportive and we are looking forward to seeing a number of our regulars back as well as some new faces.

The event is a mixture of stunning single track bridleways, byways and some quiet country lanes. The event started off with one route of 30 km but over the years the distances have grown, with the longest route currently being 120km, making it one of the longest off road sportives in the 1 day calendar. However we have always strived to make the event inclusive so for those that are not up to the Epic distance we have two shorter routes, 80km and 40km to choose from.

Route planner Wayne Cook always finds some new tracks every year and is currenly putting the final touches on the 2018 routes. GPX files will be sent out to all entered riders prior to the event and the routes will be marked.

Every year we get a variety of bikes being ridden and we welcome MTBs, Cyclo Cross Bikes, Gravel Bikes and even a tandem last year although this event is not suitable for pure road bikes.

The event starts and finishes at the Chiltern Sports and Social club in Maple Lodge which allows riders to shower and make use of a fully licensed bar as well as a cheap supply of refreshments at the end as they relive their war stories.

All finshers will get a event memento, free tea and a pint/Soft drink at the bar on finshing, there will be feed stations on the routes 1 for the 40km, at least 2 for the 80/120km routes.

Car parking is available at the venue

Check out the website www.buckssportive.co.uk for full details

Under 16's are allowed as long as accompanied by an appropriate adult who is responsible for there well being and safety, although the route uses lanes and bridleways it does cross main roads.
