This is a charity fund raising event in support of Norbury Primary School organised by mountain bikers and friends of the school. 

For 2018 the route of the Batch Burner will be returning to great trails and 'Batch's’ of the Long Mynd and all the glorious tracks it has to offer.  At around 42k the route will be a little shorter but just as tough with plenty of strenuous climbing, fantastic views, some fast grassy and technical single track descents. There will be some new fun bits through the Forestry and on the Mynd itself plus a bit of tarmac to link it all together. 

Due to a diary malfunction the Start and Finish will be located just down the road from our usual HQ at Norbury Village Hall. Just follow the signs for parking and the tented village at Whitcot Farm, Whitcot, Norbury, Shropshire SY9 5EB.

A couple of miles of lovely quiet country lanes to warm up before starting the first challenging climb up the Long Mynd. 1000m of exciting descent does mean 1000m of ascent taking in all the highlights of the Long Mynd.

Once all entries have sold out a RESERVE LIST WILL OPEN WITH ONLY 40 PLACES AVAILABLE. If you enter the reserve list, your entry fee will only be pending until you are accepted onto the event. A £1 application fee to use this facility will be taken and is non refundable.

The Organisers reserve the right to change the length of the route due to unforeseen circumstances.

Info for Riders

A mass start challenge event with spot prizes given to riders chosen at random by the children. The emphasis is all about riding the best bits of the Long Mynd at your own pace with friendly marshals directing you along the way.
A good fitness level is required and off road handling skills.

£28 entry fee includes:

• Full route marking and marshalling
• Mechanical support and broom wagon
• Event centre facilities and parking
• On site catering with a fantastic tea tent and bar.
• Free hotdog for all participants

• Event photography and onsite sports massage therapist

There will be an additional £1 admin fee charged by British Cycling on top of our entry fee.

There will also be a raffle and T shirts for sale nearer the time. Profits to the school and Air Ambulance.
