Event Overview

Sportive 2018 – Sunday 2nd September

Come and join Wensum Valley Cycling Club for a great day out on your bike.  Riding along some of our favourite roads, we’ll take you on a tour of the scenic Norfolk countryside that’s right on our doorstep. We start and finish at our base - the beautiful Parson Woodforde pub!

This year we’re teaming up with our new charity partner, the East Anglian Air Ambulance.  We want to recognise and support the fantastic life-saving work that they do.  They’ll be much in evidence on the day to cheer you on and will receive a donation from the Sportive to help their fund-raising effort.

The event is now open for entry with new 50 and 100 mile routes.  This year also sees the welcome return of our (free to enter) 6 mile “Family Ride”.

The 50 mile route has a 9.00am start time with food stops at the start, at 25 miles and at the finish.  The 100 mile route starts at 8.00am with food stops at the start, at 25 miles, 50 miles, 75 miles and at the finish.

Please enter online for these two sportive routes as it helps us with the planning and saves you a few quid over signing-up on the day.

No need to enter online for the “Family Ride”, just turn up on the day, sign-up, grab your cue sheet and off you go!  This ride takes you on a short tour around our home village of Weston Longville, has a quiz to fill in as you go and a prize at the end.  Please note that children are not allowed to ride on their own; they must be accompanied by a parent.
