Event Overview

Women and Girls Rider Developments Sessions provide a dedicated coaching environment for females wanting to improve their cycling performance.

All sessions are delivered on a traffic free closed road circuit by a Go Ride Coach to help you:

  • Ride with friends or other riders
  • Learn about group riding and etiquette
  • Develop bike handling techniques
  • Develop cycling fitness

These sessions are designed to be technically and physically challenging in a safe, fun and supportive environment. These sessions are 1.5 hours of coaching alongside riders of a similar ability.

Non British Cycling members are welcome to attend but membership is encouraged: https://www.britishcycling.org.uk/membership.

New to Group Riding - 10.30am - 12.00pm

This session is for riders who are new to group riding. Typically you will have ridden with others at a social pace and are now interested in trying a club ride or riding faster in a group with friends.

Hybrid bikes are permitted in this session but tri-bars are not allowed.If you are unsure whether this session is suitable for you, please get in touch.


Club and Racing Riders - 12.30 - 2.00pm

This session is for intermediate and advanced riders and is NOT suitable for beginners or those new to group riding. Typically you will be a club rider who is interested in racing or has tried racing.

You will need a road bike with drop handlebars for this session. Please note that tri-bars are not permitted in group riding activities.If you are unsure whether this session is suitable for you, please get in touch.


What to expect - Both sessions

Sessions are delivered on a traffic-free, closed road circuit. These sessions are aimed at improving group riding skills and confidence - following a wheel and in close proximity to other riders, cornering and working efficiently together in group formations. Your skills and fitness will be challenged in a supportive and non-pressured environment.


Non British Cycling Members are welcome to attend the first 2 sessions, after which you are encouraged to join British Cycling to continue to benefit from these sessions and additional benefits - https://www.britishcycling.org.uk/membership

Info for Riders

You will need to bring:

  • A bike - in good workling order (Road bike with drop handlebars for 12.30 session) Tri bars are not permitted.
  • Helmet and gloves
  • Appropriate clothing for the weather conditions. Sessions are outdoors so it is advisable to bring extra layers and waterproofs.
  • Two bottles and snacks
Also, be prepared for a good physical workout with techniques coached throughout the session on improving all aspects of your bike riding.
