Event Summary

Event Overview

Come and take the Challenge this spring! The Challenge for Hope is a charity sportive with a choice of 3 routes (25,40,70 miles) starting from the rugby club near the picturesque town of Dursley. All of the routes take in some stunning Cotswolds scenery and whichever route you choose you're sure to enjoy a great day out for a great cause. Bacon butties will be avilable at the start, there are home made cakes half way round all the routes and a barbecue at the end. A rugby match is also scheduled.

All proceeds from the ride go to the Peace & Hope Trust which provides practical assistance on the ground in Nicaragua to some of the worlds' poorest communities.

If you would like to get yourself some sponsors and come and take the Challenge that would be great but it is not a prerequsit, the main thing is you make the minimum donation of £25 and take part.

Thanks Ronald Swanwick  (event organiser)

About the Event

Info for Riders

The rides starts and ends in Stinchcombe with the generous support again of Dursley Rugby Club. The club will be offering bacon butties to get you going and a barbie on your return and the bar will of course be open for that very vital re-hydration. All the profits from the food goes to support the club's wonderful junior section. An added bonus this time is that the brand new changing rooms and showers will be available so that you can change. There will be a match on in the afternoon so if you are into rugby you might like to stay and watch.

We will provide a well signed choice of routes: 20 miles, 40 miles and 70 miles. There will be free hot and cold drinks with Gloria's homemade cakes available half way round.

Riders can start at any time to suit themselves from 8-30 am and all we ask is that you make sure you sign back in on your return. There will be emergency recovery and you can have a quick safety check of your bike before you start courtesy of Striking Bikes of Gloucester. There is ample parking available at the start/end.

We are asking you to donate a minimum of £24 (in addition to the £1 nominal entry fee) to join us. Of course, any extra sponsorship you can raise would be fantastic. We have kept it simple this time. We just need your entry form by post or email and you can bring all the money you are contributing on the day. There will be gift aid forms available in advance and on the day.
