Event Overview

Relaxed and fun chance to race and give cyclocross a go. Womens only, girls only and mixed children races. All ability levels welcome from complete novice upwards. The races will be between 5 and 20 minutes long. First race will be at 1.30 with a girls only race, then women's only then mixed childrens. So the girls get double the chance to race with girls and women and boys doing at least three races each. Some of the races will be handicapped so older or more experienced riders have further to race than younger riders.  Depending on number of entrants and entrants on the day different types of races and different distances will be done. Expected to finish by 4pm.  Bring a picnic rug and snacks or some change for the cafe for in between races.

About the Event

Info for Riders

Any balance bike, mountain bike, childrens bike, BMX or cyclo-cross bike welcome. The bike must be functioning well and a correct fitting helmet is mandatory. No road tyres as 90% will be raced on grass or gravel. Warm clothes, layers, waterproofs, sunscrean, gloves, snacks and drink iare highly recommended. The cafe will be open at the pavillion. Races be on the playing fields / disused athletics track over the road from the pavilion/.  Sign on at Beacon RCC gazebo 13.00-13.25. The emphasis is on fun. All ability and fitness levels are welcome. Updates or cancellation announcements if weather is extremely bad will be placed on the Beacon Cycling Academy page on Facebook.  Entry fee on day will be £3 for children, £5 for women so please enter online to save money and will help save you time collecting race number at sign on. Any questions please get in touch.


The first race will be at 13.30, a Girls Only race, followed by Women Only race at 13.40 and girls and boys race at 14.00. A full race programme will be emailed to riders before the day.
