Icknields Road Club 2017 Spring Sportive will take place this year on Sunday 30th April and as in previous years will start from Redborne School Ampthill and once again we will be supporting the East Anglian Air Ambulance

You will be riding around some really lovely villages and countryside of Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire with routes fully signposted, (garmin links also available) along with feed stations and sweeper vehicles as well

Last year we managed to raise over £6000 for them and would love to raise even more this year for this very worthy charity

We have new revised routes for the 45 and 70 milers which increases the 45 to 48 miles and the 70 to a more challenging 75 miles and new for this year a 30 miler

It is a fun day for all the family with Live Bands, fairground rides and other fun events for the kids but also subject to missions on the day the Air Ambulance will be landing in the field again so you can come and meet the crew and see the latest technolgy in life saving equipment

Each mission now costs around £3500 and has no Government funding so the charity needs as much support as possible

Info for Riders

We have 4 rides this year 15,30,48 and 75 miles with the 48 and 75 changing from previous years although you will be riding in the same area but travelling through some different villages and lanes

There will be feed stations enroute 1 for the 48 miles and 2 for the 75 miles which will be stocked with energy drinks, water, bananas and savoury snacks as well

All routes will be fully sign posted and also for those who have signed up Garmin gpx files if you prefer

Start times are as follows:

75 mile 8-00am

48 mile 9-00am

30 mile 9-30am

15 mile 10-00 am

Parking is as at Redborne School, Flitwick Road, Ampthill Mk45 2NU and there will be marshalls on the gate to guide you where to park There is changing facilities at the school and a welcome complimentary coffee and briefing before you start

We haven't got chip timing this year as it is working out too costly and is taking away much needed funds for our charity which i am sure you will understand

When you return there will be food and entertainment for all the family, Live Bands, our Famous Raffle with some great prizes handed out by the Ampthill Mayor along with other stalls and hopefully depending how busy they are on the day th Air Ambulance will be landing so you can meet the crew
