Join us in 2017 for the 9th edition of the VO2 Sportive.  With over 500 riders and two routes to choose from, this is a firm favourite for cyclists of all abilities.  Starting at VO2 Cycling HQ in Hildenborough, the routes take in some of our favourites roads around Kent and Sussex. 

Our events are designed to offer  a fun yet challenging day on the bike. The VO2 Sportive has two routes to choose from, providing something for all abilities of rider.

65km route information:

The 65km route takes in some stunning scenery around Kent, following the first and last parts of the 120km route. Starting in front of the beautiful Fosse Bank School, the route takes you around a small anti-clockwise loop before heading to Shipborne for the first climb of the route - Shipborne Hill.

From there the route winds across to Knole Park in Sevenoaks and descends River Hill before entering Weald. From Weald the route heads to Chiddingstone and around Bough Beech where it hits the 2nd major climb of the day, Ide Hill. At the top is the first feed station.

After taking in the scenery and some food, the course descends into Brasted and then climbs Toys Hill. After descending into Four Elms the two distances split. The 65km riders take a left at the crossroads in Four Elms and head back to Bough Beech village, where the 120km route re-joins the course. Both sets of riders continue to Chiddingstone Causeway before turning left to Weald and climbing Hubbards Hill.

Heading out of Sevenoaks with a final descent of River Hill, riders return to Hildenborough and the finish line back at the Walled Garden.

120km route information

Riders on the 120km route join their fellow cyclists as both routes follow the same course out of Hildenborough towards Sevenoaks and Knowle Park.  This section of the route tackles two well known local climbs: Ide Hill and Toys Hill, before the long routes splits off towards Edenbridge. 

You'll start climbing again before heading out towards the Ashdown Forest and another climb up Chuck Hatch.  The feed station awaits at the top of the climb, with stunning views across the the Ashdown forest. 

Descend into Groombridge and across to Penshurst to climb up past PORC on Grove Road. From there the route winds its way back across to Bough Beech and onto Chiddingstone Causeway.  You'll tackle the final major climb of the day, Hubbards Hill, before heading out of Sevenoaks, down River Hill and back to the Walled Garden
