Brahan Buster Cyclocross race

Directions:

 

From Inverness proceed to the Maryburgh roundabout and take the second exit onto the A835 to Contin. After approximately 2km you will see a turning to your left onto an unclassified road heading towards the River Connon.  After 1km there is a turn to the right to the venue parking area, which will be sign posted,  a marshal will then guide you to the parking area.

Start

Fuel 10k Cross Lap

From the start (A) there is a climb of 600m along estate track followed by 600m of descent into the first off road section through the woods (B). The off road is a descent through slippy woodland for 500m to point C where riders re-join the footpath which is surfaced. From point D to E there is a lung warming fast climb up the fire road to the next off road single track section from E-F. From point E there is a lovely flowing section of singletrack which will test riders ability to maintain momentum over roots and soft spots amongst the trees. This is followed by another 600m section of off road descent form F-G once you briefly cross the fire road at the top of the figure of eight.  This section is all downhill and will be give the feeling of wind through the hair, for riders not follically challenged. From G back to B is a fast climb on footpath of around 500m, before diving back onto the first section of singletrack for the next lap. The finish point is marked by a star on the course map and is at point E.

 

Rider Information

The race start is 1.2km from the parking, so please allow time to reach the start.

Riders will be able to warm up from 10am onwards for juniors and 12:30 for seniors categories

Mountain bikes and cross bikes are fine for the race.

 

Sign On

Sign on, refreshments and results will be available at the Race HQ which will be open at 9:30am.
