Event Summary

Event Overview

Join us on our annual Festive Fundraiser.  It's a gentle 40 or so miles around the Vale of Glamorgan ready to burn off some of the Christmas excesses. As usual, we'll be offering mulled wine and mince pies at the half way point, keeping in the spirit of this family friendly, non-competitive festive ride. Try out your new kit or just get some fresh air in your lungs, you're more than welcome to join the 100 other local riders who raised over $3000 last year for a local cyclist who needed an ICE Trike to get back out on the road following an accident.  All money raised will go to a local cause.

About the Event

Info for Riders

Welcome to Pontclun Flyers' Festive 40. In it's second year, it's a rolling ride around the beautiful Vale of Glamorgan allowing you to burn off some of the Christmas excesses, try out your new kit and get together with some like minded people in the glorious Welsh winter sun (!?).

We're an informal, social club which is reflected in this event. It's not the longest, fastest or highest sportive - that's not the point. The 40 miles is broken up at the 25 mile mark for a mulled wine & mince pie stop in Llantwit Major where the White Hart opens exclusively for our riders.

The ride starts and ends at Pontyclun Athletic Club where there's plenty of parking and facilities to get changed when you finish.

All the money we raise goes to a local cause. By entering this year you'll be supporting Foodbank in Pontyclun and Pedal Power in Cardiff. Both great causes and will benefit directly from your entry fee.

Last year we sold out in the first few weeks of the event going live so please make sure you enter as soon as you can. Unfortunately we can't accept entry on the day so the only way to be sure of a spot is to enter via British Cycling.

We hope you join us on the 27th and, for those who do, many thanks again for your support - it means a lot to us.

Good luck!

Pedal Power are a charity based in Cardiff who encourage & enable children and adults of all abilities and ages to experience the benefits of cycling. They strive to remove the barriers to cycling that many people face. www.cardiffpedalpower.org

Taff Ely Foodbank in based in Pontyclun. It exists to help local people in a short term crisis with a 3-day food parcel. www.taffely.foodbank.org.uk
