Event Overview

As part of the Ras y Cob festival 2016, cycling races for kids will be held along the closed road of the Cob in Porthmadog from 1:30pm onwards with races for U6s up to U16 years old. Certificate for everyone and medals for category winners. Young children must be able to ride confidently without aid e.g. without stablilisers.

Start location of races and rider number collection will be in the Welsh Cycling gazebo by the Inland Revenue offices.

Bydd rasus ar gyfer plant o dan 6 oed i fyny at 16 oed. Tystysgrif i bawb a medalau i'r enillwyr. Bydd rhaid i reidwyr ifanc allu reidio beic yn hyderus heb gymoth e.e. heb 'stabilisers'.

Bydd cychwyn y rasus a'r man pigo rhifau rasio i fyny wedi ei leoli wrth pabell Beicio Cymru wrth y swyddfa dreth.

12:45pm - Signing on (located by the tax office) opens for first race:
1:30pm - Race 1: under 6 year olds (1 mile race)
1:50pm - Race 2: 7&8 year olds (1 mile race)
2:10pm - Race 3: 9&10 year olds (2 mile race)
2:30pm - Race 4: 11&12, 13&14, 15&16 year olds (2 mile race)

Parents will need to sign their child in and pick up racing bib between 12:45-1:15pm.

What to wear? Helmet (compulsory), gloves, layers, sun cream if sunny. What type of bike? Road, hybrid, mountain bike or BMX are acceptable. The surface will be good quality tarmac. Beth i wisgo? Helmed (angenrheidiol), menyg, amryw haen o ddillad, eli haul (os yw'n braf). Sut feic? Beic lon, hybrid, mynydd neu BMX. Bydd y plant yn rasio ar lon gyda tharmac o safon uchel.
