Alyth Bike Park - Making Tracks

MTB XC , Alyth – Saturday, 11 Jun 2016

Event Summary

Event Overview

Registration opens for all the races at 10am. The registration tent is in the event village at the centre of Alyth Bike Park.

The XC Stage Race (10.30am – 12.15pm) can be undertaken at whatever speed you like. It is made up of timed stages and untimed liaisons. This means there is plenty of opportunity for socializing and taking in the views. The Full Version has 5 stages all of which are in the main downhill, covers 15km of ground and should take about 2 hrs to complete although people have done it in less. A map of the course can be found here https://www.strava.com/activities/530181792

The Lite Version(10.30am – 12.15pm)  which takes in the first two and final stages of the full race covers less 10km. It would be easy for folk taking part in the two versions of the race to ride together for the first 8km of the event.

Riders can depart for the stage race any time after 10.30am and up until 12.15pm. All riders must have returned by 2.30pm

The Full XC stage race is open to 16yrs and above and costs £20. The Lite version is open to 14yrs and above and costs £15. It'd be brilliant if folk entered these in advance so we have an idea how many timing dibbers to order. Entries can be found via the website www.alythbikepark.co.uk

Kids Races for U6, U8, U10, U12 and U14 (age on the 11th June) cost  £5 - entry on the day available, registration closes 2pm

2.30-3pm Kids XC race, 4-4.30pm Kids Hill Climb, The time in between all riders should complete a Pump Track time trial (flying lap of the pump track) and a timed run down the Blue Trail (not U6 and remember a timing chip before you leave for the top)

2.45pm - 4pm Blue trail will be open to everyone and there will be a bunch of dibbers going unused so why not sign up, just £5, for the Blue Trail Challenge (three timed runs down the blue trail using dibbers)
2.45pm - 4pm Pumptrack Time Trial, just for fun and no cost, timed over a flying lap of the pump track, you choose clockwise or anti. We'll try and make the timing as accurate as possible but it might end up being a stopwatch ;-)

Social Ride to visit the Beavers @ Bamff There will be a marked 10km route over the shoulder of Alyth Hill and down onto the Bamff estate past the extensive beaver dams and returning to the cappark on the rd. This route is open throughout the event but the will be a group ride leaving at 11am returning for 2pm at the latest, if you'd like some company.
