Event Summary

Event Overview

The event will cover two categories of rides - Endurance and Moderate.  The endurance route is 23 Miles and the moderate route is 15 miles. The route begins and starts in the picturesque Exmoor town of Dulverton. The endurance route initially follows the River Barle, over Winsford Hill, and back down the Exe Valey to Dulverton. The route involves a range of surfaces from bridle paths, forest tracks, hard tracks and one minor road. 

For people wantingto stay overnight in Dulvertton, there is a hostel available and camping in a nearby field is possible.

About the Event

Info for Riders

Riders must pre-register for the event. Entry cost per rider is £20 (plus a £1 admin fee retained by British Cycling). If we obtain sufficient sponsorship all of the entry monies will go to the work of Calvert Trust Exmoor. Riders are required to check in with the Event Control before 0845 hrs on Sunday 30 Apr at TA22 9HL. Distance is 22 miles. We have a really exciting route lined up. After leaving Dulverton, riders will follow the River Hele upstream to Wimbleball Lake and then head overr to Exe River Valley.  From there riders will climb up to the Moor  and then down to the ancient stone clapper bridge at Tarr Steps. From there riders  and proceed up the Barle Valley and return to Dulverton. Route passes over tracks through stunning countryside with with only about 2 miles of minor roads. Calvert Trust work with people with disabilities providing chance to participate in sports/outdoor activitie
