Event Overview

GeoPark Cycle Sportive, the English Riviera's first ever cycle sportive. This exciting event will start in the centre of the Global Geopark at the newly completed Torbay Velopark.  

All riders will complete a lap of the Velopark to start their Sportive, with an option of the 40 or 80 km course around South Devon’s rolling hills.  Set in some of the most beautiful coast, river and countryside Britain has to offer this non-competitive sportive is a great opportunity to see South Devon.  The 40km course is packing a total ascent of almost 800m, while the 80km course is close to 1300m.  This will challenge first timers and experienced cyclists alike.

Complete the bike course in an anti-clockwise direction. Starting at the Goodrington Velopark onto the A 379. Cyclists will travel through Marldon, Ipplepen, Berry Pomeroy, Stoke Gabriel and Galmpton before returning to the Velopark.  The 80km cyclists will complete a second lap of the most punishing loop part of the course!

Riders are to adhere to the Highway Code, being respectful to other road users as this events takes place on open roads.

Info for Riders

Complete the bike course in an anti-clockwise direction. Starting at the Goodrington Velopark onto the A 379. Cyclists will travel through Marldon, Ipplepen, Berry Pomeroy, Stoke Gabriel and Galmpton before returning to the Velopark. The 80km cyclists will complete a second lap of the most punishing part of the course with a few extra treats along the way! The course is marked and marshaled but cyclists are encouraged to know the route in advance. There are ample water stops along the course. Event details will be emailed to cyclists in advance of the event and upon successful entry. Come and pick up your registration information on Saturday, that way you will be focused for the big day. NO part of the course will be subject to any closure notices
