Etape Loch Ness is a closed road cycle sportive starting and finishing in the Highland capital of Inverness. 

Loch Ness is one of the best-known destinations in the world. Its beautiful scenery and the centuries old mystery of the Loch Ness monster have attracted visitors from around the world for years.

The opportunity to ride in a setting with so much history and mystery attracted hundreds of cyclists of all abilities in the inaugural year of the event (2014).

There is increased capacity for the 2016 Etape Loch Ness however demand for places is expected to be high so don't delay and REGISTER NOW via the event website!

Info for Riders

The Etape Loch Ness is a closed road cycle sportive starting and finishing in the Highland capital of Inverness. The 66 mile / 106 km course takes riders around the stunning shores of iconic Loch Ness providing a challenging ride with spectacular views. With 900m of ascent throughout the 66 mile course, the route is on closed roads. (NB: one section of the route is left hand lane closure only) There will be a special timed King of the Mountain stage as you leave Fort Augustus, with a 4.8 mile (9km) climb gaining gaining 380m in height and at times with a gradient reaching 12%. The event is open to cyclists aged 18 years and over on the day of the event. Safety is our priority, unconventional handlebars are not permitted and approved cycle helmets are compulsory. All cyclists MUST attend registration to collect their rider pack on Saturday 23 April, 10:00 – 19:00 at the Event Hub (Eden Court Theatre, Inverness)
