DAY OF THE DOG RD 2 - MTB TT WINTER SERIES

Intro

The Day of the Dog - MTB Winter Time Trial Series is a night series of 3 races taking place at Hicks lodge cycle centre, Willesley Woodside, Ashby de la Zouch Leicestershire LE65 2UP in autumn and winter.

RD 1 – OCTOBER 24TH 2014

RD 2 -  NOVEMBER 28TH 2014

RD 3 – JANUARY 23RD 2015

It's aimed at promoting grass roots cycling for all abilities and all sexes. The series will provide new entrants a fun environment to get into the sport of mountain biking that although traditionally XC and a downhill sport, time trail is becoming more and more popular as a mtb activity. At the same time the series is aimed at providing the more established competitors with the opportunity to blow away there best times in readiness for the full season ahead. All rounds will be Friday evening so lights will be required.

Prizes will be awarded in the form of trophies and medals for the overall positions in the series after race 3. Spot prizes will also be awarded at each round for the top 3 positions in male and female categories. There will also be prizes for best improved riders over the series and race night prizes picked from skills on the night. No cash prizes will be offered.

Each race will cost £10 on the night per race and £7.50 forTeam Bongo Members.

Please arrive 30-60 minutes before the start time to register as we will be starting the first riders at 7pm. so get there early entry closes at 6.45

All races run under the rules and regulations of British Cycling. There will be a male and female category only.

After each race there will be entertainment and chance to socialise with friends, family and fellow competitors with food, drink and music to provide a great vibe for a Friday night.

So please come and support and have some fun on a Friday night.

Course details

1 x lap of a selected Hicks Lodge Course, at around 4 - 6 miles. Hard pack surface and not too technical. Suitable for most weather conditions. The price includes entry to the TT and to cover forestry commission fees and British cycling fees plus all overheads.

Car parking available on site as pay and display (£1 per hour) Riders will need to sign on inside the main building (cafe area), prior to starting and be ready to roll with the 1st rider starting around 7pm.

The event is very kindly supported by Run & Ride, Chase trials and other friends who will be supplying prizes for the podium finishers Without the support it's makes putting on events very difficult so please where possible support these guys.

Rules

Helmets must be worn at all times whilst you are on course with your bike.

Your bike must be in good working order and suitable for the terrain.

Your lights must provide you with good visibility for the whole duration of the race.

Any areas on the bike that could cause damage to yourself or others during a crash must be covered. E.g open ends of handle bars / bar ends.

Suitable clothing must be worn for the conditions.

Abusive or offensive behaviour towards the organisers or other competitors will not be tolerated. Please refrain from using any offensive language.

Please remember that you will be in a public place and whilst we have the backing from the Forestry Commission to use the land we must still share it with other members of the public.

Please be courteous towards other competitors when passing. If passing a back-marker please give them plenty of warning that you will pass on the left or right. You must then wait for a suitable moment. Remember everybody has the same right to be on the course as you. Anybody found to be barging past or endangering others will be disqualified.
