Cycle Tours UK launch “The Exclusive Sportive Series” for 2015

Following the success and demand of the Lainston House Sportive and Sportives across the UK, Cycle Tours UK have partnered with Exclusive Hotels and Venues to create ‘The Exclusive Sportive Series’.

Cycle Tours UK believes in creating quality events that leave a lasting impression and this series won't be any different.

Chris Dawson, of Cycle Tours UK said, “We have been working with Exclusive Hotels and Venues for the past four years to bring cyclists a fantastic day of cycling and luxurious accommodation. From this relationship, the Lainston House Hotel Sportive has blossomed over the last two years and has been growing rapidly, so we feel confident this Sportive series will be as much of a success.”

David Connell, of Exclusive Hotels continues by saying, “Exclusive Hotels and Venues are delighted to continue our relationship with Cycle Tours UK into 2015. Cyclists are always welcome at our hotels and with the addition of The Manor House and South Lodge to the series, cyclists now have an opportunity to visit more of the Exclusive family. Our hotels provide the perfect backdrop for the start and finish of a first class event”

‘The Exclusive Sportive Series’ dates and venues are:

  • Bank Holiday Monday 6th April 2015 at Lainston House Hotel in Winchester

  • Bank Holiday Monday 4th May 2015  at South Lodge Hotel in Horsham

  • Sunday 31st May 2015 at The Manor House Hotel in Castle Combe.

Each event will have a minimum of two route options for all types of cycling ability.

What makes this Sportive series different is the focus on quality. Places are limited to 300 and attendees can expect a very unique experience. Riders will be personally contacted by a British Cycling coach upon entering to give them advice on how to train for the event.

There is an Exclusive offer for participants to stay the night at each venue to make the most of their Bank Holiday. However, rooms are limited to 10 per hotel so you must book soon to guarantee availability. Each hotel has plenty to do if you choose to bring children along also!

The Hotels offer a stunning venue for the start and finish, with the routes taking cyclists around the counties of Sussex, Hampshire and Wiltshire Cotswolds - arguably some of the best cycling spots in the UK.

Lainston House will provide a stunning backdrop for the first Sportive of the season and will include a Falconry Show, massage and gourmet food. The South Lodge Hotel sits in between Crawley and Brighton and is surrounded by quiet country lanes that make for amazing cycling terrain. Cyclists will be able to tackle a challenging climb with the fastest entrant winning a prize for quickest ascent.

The final event in Castle Combe, is often named as the 'prettiest village in England' and has been the site of Hollywood films such as Stardust and Steven Spielberg's War Horse. The Cotswolds is a cyclists dream with terrain that can be more varied, making it a fitting finale for the series.

Tickets are priced from £35 for entry to the Sportive which includes a phone call from a British Cycling Coach, fully signed routes, Mechanical Support, Medical Support, feed stations, Post event BBQ.

Why not treat yourself to one of the limited number of hotel rooms being offered at £200 B&B (based upon double occupancy and availability).

  • Sunday April 5th - Lainston House

  • Sunday May 3rd - South Lodge

  • Sunday May 31st - Manor House (post event)
