Event Overview

The Chenies Velo Classique is a fantastic day out for anyone who appreciates the passion, elegance and heritage of Cycling both past and present. With 3 distances of sportive (100, 60 and 30mile) based in and around the Chiltern Hills. fully supported, the rides will start and finish in the beautiful grounds of Chenies Manor, Buckinghamshire just North of London and wind there way through the lanes and iconic climbs that make this area such a magnet for cyclists. 

PLUS there is a 30 mile RETRO CLASSIQUE  (for pre 1989ish bikes!) ridden in the style of Cyclings Golden eras - riders are asked to dress in suitable attire and enter into the retro inspired "spirit of racing"

All routes will have the option to ride sections of the Chilterns very own "Strada Bianca" these ancient chalk bridleways through beech lined woods will be fully sign posted for you to savour the delights of riding in the style of the legendary champions of past eras!

With picture perfect routes, feed stations and mechanical support at all key points along the way, along with clear signage and downloadable mapping for each distance, you can rest assured you'll get the very best ride possible. All routes will return to the "Manor" with a warm welcome from the crowds enjoying the relaxed atmosphere of the Chenies Velo Village. The sportives are the flagship event of the day which is a celebration of all things cycling for the whole family.

Rider entries include access to the beautiful grounds & gardens of Chenies Manor, with its Country House feel why not tag a Champagne Pic-nic or Cream tea onto the end of your ride and enjoy a quintessentially British Bank Holiday.

Vintage Club Run & Concours d'Elegance
It's all about the simple enjoyment of riding your "Classic" bike on a Summers day in a beautiful setting with a splash of elegance, style and fun.

From traditional wicker baskets to Classic lightweights expect plenty of retro inspired High Jinx - there are no set rules governing the bikes age as long as you enter into the spirit you will be in good company. Make time for a glass of Pimms at the end or enjoy the Vintage stalls, fashions & collectables
The route of 5-8km is a great way to simply ride your bike with friends new and old. Start will be at approx.12.30.and takes in lap of the grounds with stunning views across the Chess valley.

And remember there's the Concors d'Elegance parade where entrants with Vintage Club Run numbers will be informally judged on bikes, deportment and the style that best reflects cycling’s golden eras, with podium presentations and rossettes for all winners.

Riders are welcome to relax in the grounds with friends and family and enjoy the rest of the day’s events, including access to the maze and gardens. For a small fee visitors will even be able to view the Manor house.

The Chenies Velo Classique is open to all... Cyclo Sportives, Retro Ride, Velo Village, family fun, classic Pic Nic, fashion, gourmet food, local Beer and produce,Concors D’elegance and so much more.

The Chenies Velo Classique is a must for all Cycling Connoisseurs. Whether you are looking for a 100 mile challenge with some of the toughest climbing in the south east or a retro inspired route with "Chalk Roads" and great company, then Chenies Manor on 31st August Bank Holiday is the place for you. As well as the fully supported sportives you will also be able to enjoy our Velo Village, vintage & gift Stalls, Gourmet food, beer and high end cycling fashion. Set in the glorious grounds of Historic Chenies Manor it has all the ingredients for a truly great Summers day for all cyclists and their friends.
